Punch Needle Frames

Made from beautiful basswood. Two shapes available: Square and Circle 36cm with frame, 30cm opening, 34mm depth. Material is secured easily by the back frame piece, which can be removed. The material does not sit flush at the front of the frame, but is set back, protecting the fibres from being brushed up against easily. There is also depth at the back of the frame to protect bulky punch needle fibres. Perfect for using to punch needle on and display - it holds monks cloth tight enough to punch well on. It also holds Aida well. Lightweight material does not sit tight in this frame. Material such as Monks Cloth and Aida is recommended for this frame.  Depending on the thickness of the cloth, you may wish to secure it more tightly to avoid any material shifting across the middle frame with thumbtacks at the back. This can be done before punching or afterwards in order to pull the threads completely flush against the sides of the frame. I find thumbtacks are very effective and can be removed without damaging the frame if desired. I recommend attaching the material to the middle frame and punching without the top frame in place until after the project is finished. Hanging device not included, a hanging rope is recommended and can easily be hand screwed to the back due to thickness of frame Material not included.
